Cancer details and fluid return - Ju;y 19, 2022 (imported from Facebook)

Ok, well... Couple of things...

We know the type of cancer, found on all specimens they sent in, is high grade serous carcinoma, Stage 3c, starting at the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

It was found on things near other organs, but not on other organs. For example, the ligament holding the liver, but not the liver. Or the bladder veil, but not the bladder. So all of the organs are still good. I was told this cancer responds well to chemo, so that's good.

I will be re-admitted to the hospital once a bed opens up (full because of increase in Covid cases). Since my surgery was done so quickly after diagnosis, they weren't originally able to schedule chemo right away. Also, my surgeon is on vacation this week, which I'm completely ok with - Drs need vacations more than others...

I noticed I had been accumulating more fluid, but it's actually become uncomfortable. The fluid is spreading to the side this time. My abdomen is now wider than my hips (not very pretty at all). I talked with the Dr on-call last night, and this morning, I talked with the PA that was there during my surgery. She is working with scheduling and admitting to find me a bed as soon as someone leaves... She is making sure the on-call oncology Dr is ready to get me started on chemo because that is the way to stop the fluid from coming back.

Not sure when or for how long, or many details really, but as soon as we can, I'm headed back to the hospital and I'll start chemo. I'll keep everyone posted.

I love you all. And many thanks for all of the healing vibes, love, and thoughts.
