Chemo #3 - Sept 2, 2022 (imported from Facebook)
Hey everyone.
I know I haven't had an update in a while, but I've been feeling pretty normal. I just got home from my third chemo treatment, so I figured I would send a message.
Last time, I had a little bit of nausea the first few days after chemo, but it went away when I took the medicine. And then I had a few days of really achy leg muscles and joints. Nothing seemed to really help other than taking some oxycodone and Tylenol. I'm trying not to take very much medicine, so I would only take that in the evening so I would feel better to go to bed.
My blood work has been coming back looking great for being on chemo. My red blood cell count and my white blood cell count were both within a little bit of normal, so I have not had to have anything to fix those. 🥰
After that first week or so after chemo, I really do feel pretty much my normal self. I just don't have any hair 😜
Since this is my third chemo, I only have 3 more scheduled. Hopefully the cancer will be considered in remission at that time. I'm sure I'll have something to take after to keep it that way, and probably blood tests every so often to check on things.
Also, I got the genetic testing results back today, and they were negative. So I don't have the genetic mutations that make you more likely to get these cancers... So who knows what caused me to have it. It is what it is, and I'm fighting it either way. That's why my fun hat for today was my Viking hat from Cari Reed and Rik. I had fun with it in the hospital 😂
I hope you are all doing well and enjoy this long weekend. I'll update again with any changes, or next week just to let you know how it's all going.
