6th and final chemo! Nov 4, 2022 (Imported from Facbeook)
Well, I'm done 🎉🎉🎉
I finished my 6th and final chemo today. Went the same as others, no complications.
I have been more tired as these go on, but now I should be back to normal within a few weeks...
My Cancer Antigen test result just came back at 8.2 🤩
Previous numbers:
Cancer Antigen (CA) 125
7/11/2022 624.0 (H)
8/12/2022 71.6 (H)
9/23/2022 12.4
10/14/2022 9.9
11/4/2022 8.2
I am so happy to be done with this.
The next steps are to do some scans - a CT scan and a bone scan. The CT scan will be used to double check everything looks good in my abdomen and pelvis. I asked for the bone scan just to double check my bones since I have such aches the first week after chemo...
They are also doing some additional genetic testing on my blood. I don't have the BRCA gene mutations, but I do have some other ones.
They are also going to do some additional testing of the tumor - I guess tumors can have different genetic makeups than the rest of my body/blood.
I will go on an oral drug to keep me in remission. I have an appointment in a few weeks with the oncologist to discuss the results from the scans and extra blood tests. I'm guessing we will determine the maintenance plan at that time.
Looking forward to recovering from this and getting on with my life 🥰
I have to give a huge thank you to so many people. From all of the messages, cards, food delivery gift cards, all of the hats and gifts, the visits done safely and food dropped off. All of you mean so much to me. Thank you all 🤗
I have to give a really huge thank you to my mom Joann Schlenger for coming out and staying for a few months to help out. 🥰
And the biggest thank you to William Wen for sticking by my side and doing everything possible to help me through this. I know it was tough having to go to Taiwan to help Jack get to school while worrying about me here. I love you 💕
Did my nails teal(ish) with cancer ribbons...
